Blog 4: Interview Preparation

1. I plan to interview Darlene Swain owner of Darla's Cake Design. Darlene Swain is a great candidate for helping me move forward with my Senior Project because she has experience in the topic she is a professional in it. Running a Cupcakery isn't an easy thing it is different from other bakeries and Darlene would help me figure out how she keeps her business going and successful.

Blog 3: Topic Choice and Semester 1 ESLR Goals

1. Pediatric Oncology
2. An Effective Learner seeks knowledge to better themselves in academics and to put that knowledge to use in real life. To portray my improvement in becoming and Effective Learner I will put my full effort into making my senior project and model assembly a success. To make both a success I will use my creativity to better my project. For example last year on our last trades how I brought in red and orange jello in a cup with crushed Oreos, green whipped cream, and a gummy worm to represent our energy source which came from the earth; our group passed these out to all who listened to our presentation.
An Effective Communicator is comprehensive, listens and adds to a group the ought conversation. To better improve and become an Effective Communicator I will be more involved in the committees available. By being a part of a committee I will better my communication skills and collaborate with others to achieve the overall goal of the committee.
An Effective User of Technology tries to improve their knowledge of the technology in our society today. To improve my skills with technology I will work on improving my typing skills and hopefully achieve the ability to type without looking at the keyboard. I will be able to type more words in a minute, this will help me do my projects and homework faster.
An Effective I-Poly Citizen is responsible in being a part of the I-Poly community meaning participating in events and giving back. To become and Effective I-Poly Citizen I will do my best to get to school on time and work closer to completing my community service hours. By doing these two things I will get closer to becoming an Effective I-Poly Citizen.
